Zayn Rayyan Murder: Parents Remanded for 7 Days – Selangor Police Chief

KUALA LUMPUR: The parents of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin have been remanded for seven days starting today in connection with the murder case of the autistic child last December.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that the remand order for both suspects was issued by the Magistrate’s Court in Petaling Jaya.

He said the arrests were based on investigations conducted since the day of the incident.

“They were arrested based on investigations conducted since the day of the incident until now,” he said here today.

On December 5 last year, Zayn Rayyan was reported missing before being found dead near a stream, about 200 meters from his apartment block at Apartment Idaman, Damansara Damai, the following day.

Forensic and pathology investigations by Sungai Buloh Hospital confirmed that the six-year-old child died from injuries to the neck and body due to self-defense.

As of January, more than 225 individuals have been recorded for questioning, with 248 DNA samples taken from residents and close associates for investigation purposes.

Previously, the police reiterated that they never stopped investigating the case of the autistic child’s death, and until now, the case has never been closed.

He added that investigations into the case are still active, and they are always awaiting new leads.
