Ukraine Military Shoots Down Russian Fighter Jet

KIEV: The Ukrainian military shot down a Russian SU-25 fighter bomber aircraft in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine on Saturday, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. However, Zelenskyy did not provide further details about the incident.

In a speech via video, he also stated that Russia had used eight different types of guided missiles and nearly 70 guided air bombs against communities and front lines during the day.

The attack was launched after Ukrainian air forces shot down 13 Shahed drones targeting the Kharkiv and Dnipro regions overnight.

Zelenskyy said Moscow has no desire for peace and they can only be forced to leave Ukraine.

He added that the World Security Summit scheduled in Switzerland next June should continue even without Russia’s participation.
