Two Men Plead Guilty to Attempting to Trespass on National Palace
KUALA LUMPUR: Two men who attempted to enter the National Palace, claiming they wanted to meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, on Friday, were charged in the Kuala Lumpur Court on Monday.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, stated that the suspects were charged under Section 447/511 of the Penal Code for the offense.
He mentioned that both suspects pleaded guilty to the offense.
“An additional charge was brought against one suspect under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958. However, the suspect pleaded not guilty,” he said in a statement on Monday.
Rusdi stated that the motive behind the suspects’ attempt to trespass on the National Palace could not be determined.
Meanwhile, regarding the case of a warning and threat letter against Seputeh Member of Parliament Teresa Kok Suh Sim, he mentioned that the police have recorded statements from two witnesses.
He clarified that the case is still under further investigation and no arrests have been made.
