The suspect in the attack on the prayer hall in Kelana Jaya has been identified – Police
PETALING JAYA: Police have identified the suspect who carried out an attack at Surau Al-Ehsaniah Ahmadiah near a religious school in Jalan SS 5A/10 Kelana Jaya, here, on Friday, injuring two women.
Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Jaafar, said the police have examined the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage near the surau, which shows the movement of the car used by the suspect at the time of the incident.
“So far, we have recorded the conversations of seven individuals regarding the incident,” he said in a statement here on Saturday.
Shahrulnizam said that the police are still investigating the motive of the incident.
He said the case was investigated according to Section 307 of the Penal Code for the offense of attempted murder.

In the incident at 1.48 , two women were injured, believed to have been attacked by an unknown man using a knife near the prayer hall, which also houses a Junior Religious School (SRA).
