The fleet card under SKDS has a diesel liter filling limit – Deputy Minister

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has confirmed that fleet cards under the Subsidized Diesel Control System (SKDS) for 33 types of public transport vehicles and goods have filling limits in terms of liters instead of total value.

Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying said further information on the matter would be announced by Finance Minister II, Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

“There is a limit in terms of liters and not the amount, but we are waiting for the Minister of Finance II to make an announcement. We have not set that limit yet,” he told the media after officiating the fourth Malaysian Tax Policy Forum organized by the International Strategy Institute (ISI) here today. .

Last Sunday, the government announced that the retail price of diesel fuel was set at RM3.35 per liter starting yesterday (June 10) in the Peninsular, while in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan it remained at RM2.15 per liter.

Through the implementation of diesel subsidy targeting, the government set diesel prices for eligible sectors, including SKDS 2.0 for logistics vehicles, set at RM2.15 per litre, and SKDS 1.0 for land public transport vehicles, including school buses, express buses, ambulances, and firefighters, at RM1.88 per litre. and subsidized diesel for fishermen remains at RM1.65 per litre.

When asked about the complaints of private diesel vehicle owners that the cash subsidy of RM200 a month under the BUDI MADANI initiative is insufficient, Lim said the amount was set based on the research and engagement that had been done.

He said RM200 will be maintained for the time being, but the amount will be reviewed to see if there is a need to increase the amount after receiving feedback.
