The exchange of gunfire in South Lebanon did not affect Malaysians – Wisma Putra
PUTRAJAYA: Following the increase in tension between the Zionist regime of Israel and the Hezbollah Army in Lebanon, Wisma Putra in a statement on Monday said the ministry is closely monitoring the situation.
Wisma Putra said that the retaliatory attack that is happening in South Lebanon does not involve or affect Malaysians who are there.
However, Wisma Putra warned that the situation is still unpredictable and Malaysians should take precautionary measures to avoid any harm.
“The Ministry is also actively communicating with the Malaysian Embassy in Beirut, the Malaysian Ministry of Defense, and the United Nations to assess the status and security of the Malaysian Peacekeeping Force (Malbatt) 850-11 deployed in Tibnin and Marakah, including other Malaysians in that country.
“It is very important for Malaysians who are not part of Malbatt but choose to stay in Lebanon to keep in touch with the embassy and follow all the instructions provided by the local authorities,” explained the statement.
Wisma Putra said that any Malaysians who have not yet done so are advised to do so immediately to enable them to receive updates and support if needed.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide appropriate updates to ensure the safety and well-being of all Malaysians in Lebanon,” according to the statement.
The international media previously reported that the Zionist regime had launched missile attacks and machine gun fire in several areas in Al Mahmudiyah and Kafr Rumman, South Lebanon.
In a follow-up statement, the Hezbollah Army claimed it had successfully destroyed Israeli spying equipment in Ramyah.
The tension peaked after Israel killed the Head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, a few days ago, and until now, 40,000 Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank have died due to the brutality of the Zionist regime.
