Swifties Urge Taylor Swift to Speak Out About Palestine

Taylor Swift fans, known as Swifties, have launched a campaign urging the singer to speak out about the genocide taking place in Gaza.

The hashtag #SwiftiesForPalestine has gained traction on social media platforms this week following Israeli attacks in Rafah that claimed the lives of dozens of Palestinians and injured hundreds more.

In their posts, fans hold Palestinian flags and “Speak Now” banners from Swift’s “The Eras Tour,” referring to the title of one of the singer’s hit albums.

Fans are also reposting a letter urging Swift to use her platform to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where over 36,000 Palestinians have been killed since early October.

The letter emphasizes the importance of voices from influential individuals like Swift in making an impact and drawing attention to global humanitarian issues.

The letter has received over 2.5 million views and 16,000 reposts as of Thursday.

“Where is the woman who has fought tirelessly to express her beliefs even when faced with negative reactions? Or do you only speak up when it benefits you?” asked one fan on X.

The pressure from Swifties comes after millions of social media users, including several celebrities, shared images with the slogan “All Eyes On Rafah” to raise awareness about the situation in Gaza.

Several celebrities have reposted the image, including models Gigi and Bella Hadid, actor Aaron Paul, Mark Ruffalo, Jenna Ortega, Nicola Coughlan, Susan Sarandon, and Priyanka Chopra.

Swift has previously been vocal about human rights issues, but has remained silent on the situation in Gaza so far.
