Section 11 of the WCE began implementing toll collection on July 24

IPOH: Section 11 of the West Coast Highway (WCE) connecting Taiping Selatan-Trong-Beruas will implement toll collection starting at 12.01 p.m. on July 24.

In a statement today, WCE informed that the 35.5-kilometer (km) line has been operating for free since it was officially opened on March 12 by Public Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

Section 11 toll collection will be carried out entirely electronically using Touch N Go cards, Smart Tag (Taiping Selatan and Lekir Toll Plazas only) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).

“The toll rate will be charged according to vehicle class, from 94 sen to RM39.36,” according to the statement.
Motorway users are advised to ensure that their e-wallet and Touch ‘N Go card balance are sufficient before starting their journey to avoid any inconvenience while passing through the toll plaza.

The WCE is a major highway project in Malaysia with a length of 233 km from Banting, Selangor to Taiping Selatan (Changkat Jering) and when completed it will serve as an important transportation hub connecting cities along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
