Russia, Malaysia wish to increase the amount of bilateral trade
KUALA LUMPUR: Russia and Malaysia intend to increase bilateral trade and develop investment cooperation, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Sunday.
“We have talked about the need to focus now on increasing bilateral trade, which in recent years has been relatively weak. We continue to strengthen the legal framework.
“In May, we signed an updated agreement to avoid double taxation. It will come into force soon and, of course, it will help the development of our investment cooperation,” Lavrov said at a press conference after his visit to Malaysia, Sputnik reported.
Lavrov said several draft agreements between the governments were at varying levels of readiness, and both sides had agreed to speed up work on them.
According to him, the discussion with the Malaysian leadership was meaningful and constructive, and both parties reviewed the entire range of bilateral cooperation.
