PM is ready to declare properties at any time
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today said he is ready to declare assets at any time.
“Me, if someone (party) asks tomorrow to (declare) property, I will do it tomorrow too, Dig up as much as you can… then you can be a leader; be an example. If not, what do we want to teach the people because one of the ways to lift The degree of Islam is good governance.
“This (some party) when asked to declare property is angry, (say because of) revenge; what is revenge? If you are not at fault, why are you afraid of declaring property?” he said in his speech when officiating the ground-breaking ceremony for the Tahfiz Science Integration Middle School Complex Construction Project at Taman Alam Sutera here today.
Previously, Perikatan Nasional Chief Whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the declaration of assets, which is one of the conditions contained in the Memorandum of Understanding regarding allocations to opposition Members of Parliament, only needs to be done when involving members of the administration as practiced by the previous government.
Anwar also said his government is fighting corruption and corruption.
“Some parties talk about the Malays, religion and Islam, but in reality they are looting the country’s income and wealth. I don’t want this to happen; I don’t mean it has already happened here.
