People are invited to join the Palestine Liberation Rally this Sunday
KUALA LUMPUR: The public is invited to join the Palestine Liberation Rally, which will be held at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil this Sunday.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, through a post on Facebook, said the gathering scheduled to take place at 8pm is expected to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“Everyone is invited to attend! The Palestine Liberation Rally was inaugurated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil. See you this Sunday!” he said.
Yesterday the Prime Minister said the rally was one of the actions to convey the message that Malaysia condemns the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh and supports Palestine.
Haniyeh was reportedly killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted his residence north of Tehran at about 2 a.m. Iran time last July 31.
He was in the Iranian capital to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian.
On Oct 24, last year, the Malaysia Together with Palestine Gathering was held at the Axiata Arena, which brought together the political leaders of the Unity Government and the opposition to express solidarity with the Palestinian people.
