Participation in MATTA Fair has Gained Vivid Supports from Visitors
SELANGOR, 2 April 2024 — Ecotourism and agrotourism attractions in Selangor has started to gain attention from tourists domestically. Brought the theme “Jom Balik Kampung” during the previous MATTA Fair from 22nd to 24th of March 2024 at MITEC Kuala Lumpur, Tourism Selangor has highlighted the cultural and heritage of Selangor, specifically the Northern Region of Selangor.
Participated by 17 tourism product operators, the Selangor Pavilion managed to reach almost half of million in sales, reaching RM 494,362.28 throughout the 3 days of participation. Supported by the high number of sales by Sky Mirror and Farm in the City at RM 49,810 and RM 44,206 each, this has marked a new record for the agrotourism and ecotourism segmentations in Selangor.
Enlivened with the presence of Jungle School Gombak, this indigenous community organisation has exhibited the rattan and mengkuang products and showcased the survival skills in the jungle by the Semelai tribe in Gombak. As a part of the sustainable tourism missions, the involvement of Jungle School Gombak is the key towards implementing the Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations.
