Op Global: The police will apply to continue the remand of 24 GISB members including the CEO – KPN
KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain informed that the police will apply for an extension of the remand against 24 leaders of Global Ikhwan Services and Business (GISB) Holdings Sdn Bhd, including its Chief Executive Officer, which is scheduled to expire tomorrow.
He said it is to enable the police to carry out investigations into human trafficking cases.
“Previously, all the GISB’s top leadership, including the GISB CEO, wife and children, were re-arrested under an investigation paper under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007.
“The police will ask for their remand to be continued to complete the investigation.
“So far all 24 members of GISB’s high leadership have not been arrested under the provisions of the Security Offenses (Special Measures) Act 2012,” he said when contacted here on Thursday.
They were among those arrested following Op Global launched by the police on September 19 before being remanded for seven days.
The remand period involving all 24 detainees was extended twice on September 25 and 30, with the latter expected to end tomorrow.
