No Malaysians were affected in the pager explosion incident in Lebanon – Wisma Putra

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring the situation in Lebanon following the explosion of pager devices that occurred in several locations throughout the country.

In a statement today, the ministry, which is also known as Wisma Putra, informed that no Malaysians were reported affected or involved in the incident.

“Advice to Malaysians in Lebanon: Malaysians are advised to be careful, avoid visiting the southern part of Lebanon, and get the latest information through reliable news sources,” according to the statement.

Wisma Putra also informed that the Malaysian Battalion (MALBATT 850) stationed in Lebanon is safe and not affected by the incident.

Malaysians in Lebanon who have not yet registered with the embassy are advised to do so via the link https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my/.

Wisma Putra also advises Malaysians who need consular assistance to contact the Malaysian Embassy in Beirut. The embassy is located at Lot 170, Saad Zaghloul Street, Downtown, Beirut, Lebanon.
