Mohamad led the Malaysian delegation to the OIC emergency meeting

PUTRAJAYA: Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan will lead the Malaysian delegation to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Emergency Meeting of the Executive Committee at the level of Foreign Ministers on Wednesday (August 7), in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting proposed by Palestine and Iran will discuss Israel’s ongoing occupation crimes against the Palestinian people, as well as Israel’s aggression and threats to Iranian sovereignty.

The meeting will be presided over by the Gambian Foreign Minister, who also serves as the 15th OIC Summit chairman.

According to the statement, Mohamad’s participation in the meeting will allow Malaysia to strongly condemn the Israeli regime’s massacre and massive destruction of the Gaza Strip, including the killing of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

It also represents Malaysia’s commitment to the Palestinian people’s struggle, as well as its support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital.

According to the statement, Malaysia also supports the full membership of Palestine in the United Nations.
