MCMC monitors parody content involving GISB – Teo
KULAI: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is actively monitoring social media content involving Global Ikhwan Services and Business (GISB) Holdings Sdn Bhd, including song videos that have been transmitted and parodied by a few members of the public.
Deputy Minister of Communications Teo Nie Ching said in that regard that his party will cooperate with any agency responsible for investigating the group if there is a request.
“Among the actions that can be taken is to take down the transmission (parody). At the same time, we ask the public to listen to the advice of the authorities such as the Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (JAKIM), the police, and others.
“If we receive a report regarding the matter, we will take action,” he told reporters after visiting the JENDELA Phase One Communications Infrastructure Site at Felda Inas here today.
He said this when asked to comment on the actions of the community to make issues involving GISB a parody or joke on various social media platforms at the moment.
Recently, a song sung by members of the group involved, including the founder of Al-Arqam, went viral on social media, attracting the attention of a number of people in the country.
