MB Perak will go before Sultan Nazrin to present a report on GISB activities

LENGGONG: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad will meet the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, to present a full report on the activities of Global Ikhwan Services and Business (GISB) Holdings Sdn Bhd in the state in the near future.

He said the report is being completed by the Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk), which is the party responsible for handling the issue.

“I have asked JAIPk to collect information and data to make a report. Coincidentally, Sultan Nazrin is also the Chairman of the Malaysian National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs (MKI), which handles this issue.

“For my part, there is no denying that the activities of this group do exist (in this state) and are being closely monitored by the police,” he said after officiating the 2024 Raid Lenggong Jungle Clearance Ceremony in Kampung Beng here today.

Previously, the Perlis State Fatwa Committee decided that GISB’s beliefs and teachings contained elements of heresy, especially inner teachings.

Terengganu is also in the same plan but is collecting evidence that links the organization involved with elements that are against Islamic teachings.

Saarani said the decision to fatwa GISB as an illegal organization will only be made after the Fatwa Committee of the National Council issues a ruling regarding the organization.

In the same development, he said a total of 55 children were successfully rescued from GISB-owned charity homes throughout the state of Perak since Op Global was implemented on Sept 21.

He said all the children in question are now placed in a shelter that is fully monitored by the Department of Social Welfare (JKM).
