PUTRAJAYA: Malaysians are advised to postpone all travel to Bangladesh due to the still unstable situation in the country, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it was closely monitoring the situation in Bangladesh through the Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka.
“This ministry also takes note of the formation of the interim government of Bangladesh to ensure that the country’s administrative affairs can function as usual.
Malaysian citizens who are in Bangladesh are advised to register their whereabouts with the Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka, as well as always be vigilant, avoid being in conflict areas and obey the instructions of the local authorities,” he said in a statement issued on Wednesday.
It said the latest developments would be communicated from time to time.

Media reported that more than 200 people were killed in the protests that began as a movement against job quotas in the government in mid-July. The protest then developed into a campaign to oust Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
On Monday, Hasina left Bangladesh amid growing calls for her to resign following mass protests against her government.
