Malaysian Holiday Carnival at Craft Complex 25-27 October
KUALA LUMPUR: A variety of attractive offers on tour packages, including discounts ranging from 15 to 50 percent, await visitors to the Holiday Carnival Malaysia (KCCM) 2024, which will last for three days starting on Oct 25 at Kompleks Kraf, Jalan Conlay, here.
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, said the KCCM 2024 themed ‘Crafting Holidays’ offers discounts on more than 100 travel packages to give people the opportunity to plan a holiday while enjoying hands-on experience in art, handicrafts, and cultural activities of local heritage.
“Among the attractive domestic tourism packages offered include nature destinations, cultural experiences, and adventure activities.
“Visitors can enjoy holiday offers that cover popular destinations throughout Malaysia as well as unique activities such as heritage tours, water sports, scuba diving, birding (bird watching), stargazing (stargazing), and nature adventures,” he said when speaking at the KCCM 2024 Pre-Launch Ceremony here on Tuesday.
He said that the organization of KCCM 2024, which was introduced for the first time through a strategic collaboration between Tourism Malaysia and Malaysian Crafts, aimed to boost domestic tourism activities through the sale of tourism packages directly to consumers.
“At the same time, we want to help improve the economy of local industrialists through the involvement of more than 100 industry representatives consisting of state tourism departments, travel agencies, tourism product owners, hotels, theme parks, and handicraft operators. This will also contribute to an increase in visits to the Craft Complex,” he said.
He said his party will also bring Pasar Saloma, which has the concept of a classic Malay village as a business platform for small and medium industrial entrepreneurs (SMEs).
Saloma Market has a nostalgic theme with more than 30 stalls featuring traders in traditional dress while offering a variety of sales such as traditional delicacies and unique products loved for generations.
“KCCM 2024 will be enlivened with artist performances, cultural dances, handicraft demonstrations, a flying roti canai show, and a lucky draw,” he said.
Khairul Firdaus said that all the programs involving tourism and cultural activities this year are preparations for Malaysia to take over the duties as ASEAN Chairman 2025.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, said visitors who want to come to KCCM 2024 can use public transport, including Mass Transit Transit (MRT), which stops at Jalan Conlay Station, and the KL Hop-On Hop-Off Bus (KL HOHO). which also stopped in front of the Craft Complex.
