Malaysia will not stop helping Palestine, will provide treatment facilities for them – PM
Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia will provide appropriate health treatment facilities for some of the Palestinian people, especially women and children, who are sick or injured following the brutality of the Israeli Zionist regime in the country.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he had already discussed with several Arab leaders how to facilitate the process, particularly with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
He emphasized again that as long as he gets a mandate from the Malaysian people to continue leading the country, Anwar vowed to do everything possible to help ease the suffering of the Palestinian people and support their struggle to be free from the occupation of the Zionist regime.
“God willing, we will do our best; we will voice our views no matter in front of whom. We will help; the sick are either treated there or brought here; we will continue without tolerance. The government will allocate funds.
“Besides that, I hope you (Malaysians) also don’t stop talking about Palestine every day. Don’t stop helping and almsgiving to ease the suffering of our friends in Palestine. I want Malaysia to be located on the historical map where the country is more consistent and earnest in fighting for the fate of the Palestinian people.
“We will continue this effort. I apologize for not being able to talk for long. God willing, with the mandate given by the Malaysian people, I will do everything I can to help and defend their fate,” he added.
He said this while speaking at the summit of the Palestine Liberation Organization held at the Axiata Stadium, Bukit Jalil, on Sunday.
In his speech, the Prime Minister also expressed his appreciation to several leaders of Arab countries, including the Emir of Qatar, Tamim Hamad Al-Thani, for preparing the funeral of the Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed recently, as well as the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, who has always consistently supported the Palestinian cause.
In addition, he also thanked the King of Bahrain, Hamad Isa Al-Khalifa; the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed Zayed Al-Nahyan; and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Salman, for their cooperation and support.
The Prime Minister stressed again that there should be no other party out there that tries to weaken the fighting spirit and jihad spirit of the Palestinian people, who yearn for their country to be independent and sovereign.
In the meantime, Anwar said he was very confused as to why the major powers of the world considered the Palestinian people, who have suffered for decades, as if they were half human.
“There is no reasonable answer other than their attitude, which is full of hypocrisy. That’s why we have no choice. Who said I’m so brave? But I’m just representing you as being responsible.
“I still think and worry about the fate of Malaysians and the fate of the country. I want Malaysia to be strong, with a developed and great economy, stable politics, united people, and advanced technology.
“But I am also human; I understand humanity. I don’t want the people to be oppressed or Palestine to be made a slave, so I am responsible with you to stand up for the Palestinian people’s struggle,” he said again.
Malaysia, he emphasized again, as a country whose majority is Malay and has representatives from various religions and races, will continue to adhere to the principles of justice and humanity.
