Kuala Kubu Baharu By-Election: I’m not anybody’s proxy – Ke Xin

HULU SELANGOR – Nyau Ke Xin, the independent candidate for the Kuala Kubu Baharu State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by-election, firmly refutes claims of being a proxy for any political party in the area. The Sabak Bernam native from Selangor asserts that she has no affiliations with any political party.

“In response to the allegations of being a political party proxy, I have clarified on TikTok that I am neither a proxy nor receiving payment from any party to contest. Furthermore, I have sworn an affidavit to refute these claims.

“I urge irresponsible parties to cease these accusations and slander immediately,” she stated during a press conference after unveiling her manifesto in Kuala Kubu Baharu town on Saturday.

When questioned about allegations of being a proxy for a specific political party in this by-election, Ke Xin, who also works as a manager at a private company in Shah Alam, Selangor, emphasized her decision to participate in the election stems from her personal desire to effect change in society.

“I am contesting in this Kuala Kubu Baharu State Assembly by-election driven by my own aspiration to bring about societal change,” she affirmed.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old candidate presented 20 proposals through her manifesto for the Kuala Kubu Baharu DUN by-election. These proposals include a comprehensive examination of issues related to land acquisition by individuals and non-Islamic places of worship. Additionally, she advocates for constant monitoring of prices of essential and fresh supplies, along with ensuring the availability of healthcare facilities.
