KPWKM examines the need for annual psychometric tests for nursery nannies

SEMATAN: The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) will examine the need to conduct annual psychometric assessment tests for registered nursery operators and nannies, said its minister, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

He said, by updating the results of the psychometric test, it allows his party to know the latest health level of nursery workers, especially their mental health which is one of the important aspects in handling children.

“As we want to upgrade the system, we also call on those who want to send their children to check first whether the nursery is registered or not under the ministry before sending their children there,” he said.

He said this to reporters after officiating the Healthy Malaysia National Agenda Tour Series One and Asean Dengue Day Celebration Kuching Division in Kampung Pueh, here, on Saturday.
Psychometric tests are conducted as an instrument to measure personality, health and well-being, emotional competence and conflict management to measure the candidate’s ability to ensure good performance at work.

In Malaysia, psychometric assessment is required only once as an entry-level test for people who want to be involved in the nursery field.

The Series One Healthy Malaysia National Agenda Tour aims to provide comprehensive health services to residents in the area.

Also present were the Deputy Minister of Health, Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni; Opar state assemblyman Billy Sujang and Tanjung assemblyman Datu Azizul Annuar Adenan.
