Johor hopes to run a pilot school from next year

JOHOR BAHRU: The state government intends to launch a Johor pilot school starting next year to shape the future of education for the Johor Nation, which is more advanced and competitive.

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the wish would be implemented in collaboration with the Johor State Education Department (JPNJ).

He said this move is in line with the order of the Acting Sultan of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail who emphasized the importance of quality education.

“Special focus will be given to the mastery of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and English.

“To begin with, it will involve two primary schools and two secondary schools, which are being determined by the JPNJ,” he said through a post on his Facebook page today.

Onn Hafiz hopes that the desire to develop a Johor pilot school will yield good results for the future of the state.
