Investigation on GISBH, 740 recorded conversations – KPN
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 740 conversations have been recorded in relation to the investigation into GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH).
Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, said this action was taken through Op Global, which was implemented for the first and second phases.
“Out of the number recorded, 30 are recordings of the conversation of the complainant, witness (216), victim (392) and suspect (102).
“The cumulative number of investigation papers that have been opened for Phase 1 and 2 is 33 investigation papers,” he said on Wednesday.
Commenting on the development of Op Global, Razarudin said that the investigation is now in the second phase, starting on September 11, after the first phase started on September 2.
He said a total of 10 investigation papers were opened in Phase 1, six each in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan (4), while Phase 2 involved 23 investigation papers, 16 in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan (2), Perlis (1) and Kuala Lumpur ( 1).
On Tuesday, Sinar Harian reported that a total of 149 child victims aged one to 10 years were given temporary custody orders supervised by the Social Welfare Department (JKM) under Section 25(2) of the Children’s Act 2001.
Razarudin is reported to have said that this victim has been transferred to four shelters
The remaining 243 children are still housed at the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Center (Pulapol) and will be transferred to temporary care centers in stages.
In addition, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has frozen 96 accounts involving GISBH worth RM581,552.31 in accordance with Section 44(1) AMLATFPUAA 2021, in addition to four accounts that have been closed.
