HONOR Unveils Open AI Ecosystem Vision, Targets 20,000 AI Services by 2026

BARCELONA — Global technology company Honor Device Co., Ltd has revealed an ambitious strategy to build an open artificial intelligence ecosystem through its newly upgraded HONOR AI Connect Platform.

The announcement was made during the ConnectAI panel session held at Mobile World Congress 2026, where the company outlined its long-term vision for the future of intelligent devices.

Under the initiative, HONOR aims to integrate more than 20,000 AI services into its ecosystem by the end of 2026.

The move signals the company’s strategic shift from being primarily a smartphone manufacturer to becoming a global leader in AI-powered device ecosystems.

President of Products at HONOR, Fang Fei explained that the upgraded platform will allow partners to access the company’s core AI capabilities.

This approach will enable technology companies and developers to build new services and devices that can operate seamlessly across different platforms and product categories.

According to Fang Fei, the strategy goes beyond simple device connectivity by enabling deeper intelligence sharing between devices and services.

The goal is to create a unified experience where AI functions can move smoothly between different devices used by consumers.

During the panel discussion, Fang Fei was joined by Philippe Lucas from Orange to discuss how AI, connectivity and smart devices are increasingly converging.

The discussion highlighted the importance of industry collaboration in shaping the next generation of intelligent devices.

HONOR plans to work with partners to expand its ecosystem into new categories such as education technology, smart home devices, audio products, pet technology and interactive toys.

Fang Fei described the current stage of AI development as similar to a “Cambrian Explosion” — a period in evolutionary history when life rapidly diversified into many different forms.

In the same way, she believes the technology industry is approaching a phase where a wide range of AI-powered devices will emerge rapidly.

These devices could include innovations such as embodied AI systems, intelligent assistants and new types of connected hardware.

HONOR is also exploring new concepts such as AI companions designed to support users in daily tasks and creative activities.

Fang Fei emphasised that the company believes the era of closed technology ecosystems, often referred to as “walled gardens,” should come to an end.

Instead, HONOR advocates an open approach where different devices and platforms can collaborate more effectively.

One of the key ideas behind the company’s vision is the creation of a personal AI agent that acts as a digital twin of the user.

This AI agent can understand the user’s intentions on one device and continue that interaction across other connected devices such as smart cars, home automation systems or service robots.

Such capabilities are made possible through distributed technologies that remove the limitations of traditional single-screen computing environments.

According to HONOR, this evolution will transform devices from passive tools into proactive digital partners.

The company describes this concept as Augmented Human Intelligence (AHI), where technology enhances human capabilities rather than simply assisting them.

One example of this innovation is the HONOR Robot Phone, a device that merges smartphone functionality with robotic technology.

The device can act as a personal videographer, automatically tracking and recording video while allowing users to remain actively involved in the moment.

During its official launch event on March 1, HONOR also introduced its latest AI-native foldable smartphone, the HONOR Magic V6.

The ultra-thin foldable device was unveiled alongside a new generation of laptops, tablets and other AI-enabled products.

Visitors and global media attending Mobile World Congress were invited to experience these new innovations firsthand at the HONOR exhibition booth.
