FT Minister meets YTL rep to discuss Nagamma temple relocation issue

KUALA LUMPUR — Federal territories minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa has given an assurance that the relocation of the Nagamma temple in Sentul will be resolved immediately and urged everyone to stay calm.

On a Facebook posting, she said a discussion was held today with the company, headed by YTL Land & Development Bhd executive director Dato’ Hamidah Maktar.

The meeting was also attended by deputy unity minister K Saraswathy, Batu MP P Prabakaran, representatives from Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur and the Malaysia Hindu Sangam.

“The discussion today was positive and I am confident the issue can be resolved amicably soon.” she added.

It was reported that in the news that the private company, which owned the land, had been trying to get the temple removed since 2013 and there had been continuous dialogue over the matter since the end of last year.
