Form 5 student abducted after ending romantic relationship with man

Student released the same day, police arrest three individuals, including one woman.

A FORM 5 student at a secondary school in Kuala Lumpur who ended a romantic relationship with a young man underwent a harrowing ordeal when she was abducted and locked up for almost five hours before being released last Friday.

Gombak district police chief Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the incident happened at 7am when the victim was in front of her school.

She was approached by an unknown man and woman before being forcibly pulled into a white Toyota car.

“The victim was then taken to a rural lodging before being released back in safe condition without any injuries at noon the same day.

“The investigation found that the student knew one of the suspects, who was her ex-boyfriend, and the motive for this case is that the suspect was not satisfied because the student broke off the relationship,” he said in a statement here today.

He said the incident was reported by the student’s teacher to the victim’s 42-year-old mother who then made a police report.

Acting on the report, Noor Ariffin said police arrested three individuals around Kepong, including a woman aged between 19 and 22 years old, at 11.30pm that night. They are suspected of being involved in the incident.

Police also seized a white Toyota car and a Yamaha motorcycle.

Noor Ariffin said all the suspects have been remanded for four days from yesterday until this Tuesday for investigation under Section 365 of the Penal Code.

It relates to the crime of kidnapping or abducting with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine a person.

Upon conviction, it carries a jail term of up to seven years and also a fine.

Noor Ariffin called on members of the public who saw or have information regarding this incident to come forward to help with the investigation.
