False document: Chief Minister’s son, MB office officer among six remanded by MACC

KANGAR: The son of a chief minister (MB) and a senior officer of the MB’s Office are among six remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to assist in investigations into document forgery amounting to RM600,000.

The remand order was issued by Magistrate Ana Rozana Mohd Nor after the suspects were brought to court at 8:45 this morning.

Sources said all the detained suspects are aged between 27 and 37 years old and are required to assist in investigations related to the implementation of infrastructure development projects such as repairs, maintenance, supplies, and services since 2022.

The investigation is believed to also involve false claims for work not carried out.

The detained suspects are believed to play roles as company owners, contractors, and civil servants in the State Secretary’s Office and the Chief Minister’s Office.

Sources said the suspects were detained between 7 and 8 am yesterday and the investigation is being conducted under Section 18 of the MACC Act.

Meanwhile, MACC Putrajaya’s Senior Director of Special Operations Division, Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman, when contacted, confirmed the detention.
