Faisal Acid Attack Case: Police Await Suspect Fingerprints Analysis Results
PETALING JAYA: Police are awaiting the results of fingerprint analysis obtained at the scene of the acid attack involving Selangor FC squad member Faisal Halim at a shopping center in Kota Damansara here on Thursday.
Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Bukit Aman, Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, stated that reviews based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings found that the suspects touched several areas and places at the scene.
“The fingerprints left behind have been collected, and we are still awaiting the results of the analysis being conducted.
“If the results obtained later provide a positive indication, God willing, it may bring the police closer to the latest suspects,” he said. He made the statement at a press conference after personally inspecting the scene at a shopping center near Kota Damansara here on Monday.
He said further investigations are still ongoing regarding the arrests involving two suspects earlier.
“Regarding the two suspects detained earlier, what I can say is that we are still investigating.
“It is still in the preliminary stage for me to share any developments regarding the said arrests,” he said.
In the incident last Sunday, Faisal was reported to have suffered fourth-degree burns after being attacked with acid by two motorcyclists at a shopping center in Petaling Jaya.
As a result, police successfully apprehended two men separately in Pandan Indah, Ampang, and Bangi last Sunday and Monday.
