Fahmi turned down debate, called Wan Fayhsal an ‘Attention Seeker’
KUALA LUMPUR: Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil refused to accept the open debate challenge from Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal and described the actions of the Machang Member of Parliament as an attention seeker .
He said Wan Fayhsal was seen to be ‘hurt’ and ‘shocked’ when Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli challenged him to debate the money printing formula that the Bersatu Youth Leader had once shouted.
” He’s an attention seeker . If he wants to debate, he should not bring a letter to Parliament; he can come to Parliament and debate according to the rules.
“I saw that he was ‘hurt’ and ‘snapped’ because Rafizi had thrown a challenge at him and touched on the formula or concept of printing money that the Machang Member of Parliament used to shout about.
“Now that he has received a challenge from the Minister of Economy, it is not easy to debate with Rafizi. I think he is addicted to attention; he wants people to look at him, look at me, and look at me,” he said after the ‘Jejak Panda’ ceremony by Foodpanda Malaysia here on Tuesday.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal previously challenged Rafizi and Fahmi to debate on the issue of the sale of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) shares to BlackRock Inc.
His willingness to debate on the neutral stage was also aimed at answering questions related to his six-month suspension from attending the Dewan Rakyat session last July.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal, in a previous counter statement to a social media user, challenged the government to debate the issue of MAHB, Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) and Blackrock.
Meanwhile, Rafizi, through a broadcast on the X platform on Friday, however, invited Wan Ahmad Fayhsal to debate on the topic of ‘the effect of stimulating the economy by printing money’ through the ‘podcast’ platform.
