Exploitation of children: PM Anwar wants an immediate investigation of cases related to GISB
KAJANG: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wants immediate action to be taken involving investigations and reports regarding the case of Global Ikhwan Service and Business (GISB) Holding which involves the exploitation of children.
The Prime Minister said, issues related to faith, misuse of power, misuse of religion and abuse are big things, if proven true.
Accordingly, Anwar submitted to the relevant authorities including the Royal Malaysian Police to carry out investigations and actions in accordance with the law.
“Religious councils especially in the (Federal) Region and I also see the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) and the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM)
“Many people ask why there is a delay, delay in taking action, so I have brought this matter up so that immediate action is taken (in) investigation and report,” he said, quoting Bernama.
Anwar was found after performing Friday prayers at Masjid Al-Iman in Kampung Desa Putra here, today.
On Wednesday, the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department raided 20 charity homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan and arrested 66 men and 105 women who worked as caretakers, ustaz, and chairpersons of the charity home aged between 17 and 64.
Following that, Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain on Thursday informed that a total of 171 individuals were remanded for seven days starting yesterday to assist in the investigation of a company accused of exploiting children and religion.
