China Agrees to Extend Visa Exemption Period for Malaysian Citizens – Ahmad Zahid

Beijing: China has agreed to extend the visa exemption period for Malaysian tourists from 15 to 30 days, said Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that this agreement was reached during his courtesy visit to Chinese Premier Li Qiang yesterday.

“I am pleased to announce that both countries have agreed to extend the tourist visa exemption period to 30 days.”

“The implementation will take place after the agreement on this matter is signed during Qiang’s visit to Malaysia next month,” he said during his speech at the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Malaysia-China Diplomatic Relations at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse here on Friday.

The luncheon to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations was organized by the Malaysian Embassy in China and the Malaysia-China Friendship Association.

Also present were Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Ding Xuexiang; Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Mohamad Alamin; Malaysia’s Ambassador to China, Datuk Norman Muhamad; Director-General of East Asia Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Tarid Sufian; and Chairman of Mara, Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
