All Malaysian students in Dhaka are safe
PUTRAJAYA: All Malaysian students in Dhaka, Bangladesh, are safe as of 4pm on Friday, according to a report from the Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry said in a statement issued late Friday that there are 95 Malaysian students in Bangladesh, and two students have left Dhaka recently with the help of the High Commission.
“Efforts are being made to bring back four students from Mymensingh Medical College to Malaysia, while a group of students have been transferred to temporary accommodation,” he said.
Internet services in Bangladesh are experiencing widespread disruption, but telephone and short message service (SMS) services are still operating.
