Aida Abdul Hamid Appointed Bukit Aman JIPS Director with Acting Commissioner Rank
PETALING JAYA — Aida Abdul Hamid has been appointed director of the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department at Bukit Aman, assuming the role with the acting rank of commissioner.
The appointment forms part of a series of promotions and leadership changes involving senior officers within the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
PDRM secretary Abdul Rahman Kassim said the reshuffle involved three senior officers who were promoted and reassigned to new leadership positions within the police force.
Among those affected by the changes is Redzuan Abd Hamid, previously the deputy director (Technical/Operations) of the Logistics and Technology Department at Bukit Aman.
Redzuan has now been promoted to serve as the director of the Logistics and Technology Department.
Meanwhile, the vacancy left by Aida in the organisational structure of JIPS will be filled by Suryani Sungit.
Suryani previously served as deputy director (Standards Compliance) of JIPS and has now been appointed deputy director (General Policing/Community Policing) of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department.
According to Abdul Rahman, the leadership changes form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen management and operational effectiveness within the police force.
Such appointments and promotions are intended to enhance administrative efficiency across key departments at Bukit Aman.
The move is also seen as important in ensuring that the police force continues to operate effectively in fulfilling its responsibilities in maintaining national security and public safety.
As the newly appointed JIPS director, Aida is expected to play a key role in reinforcing integrity standards and compliance practices within the police force.
The Integrity and Standards Compliance Department is responsible for monitoring discipline, ethical conduct and adherence to operational procedures among police personnel.
Through these leadership changes, the police force hopes to further strengthen governance, transparency and public confidence in Malaysia’s policing institutions.
