97 individuals receive Orders and Decorations in conjunction with the 78th Birthday of the Sultan of Selangor

SHAH ALAM: A total of 97 individuals have been conferred with Orders and Decorations in conjunction with the 78th birthday of Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, tomorrow.
The Secretary of the Selangor State Government, Datuk Haris Kasim, in a statement today, said that among the recipients, one individual received the Royal Order of Selangor, the Most Esteemed (D.K.), and another was awarded the Royal Order of Selangor, the Most Esteemed (Second Class) (D.K. II).

Haris mentioned that three individuals received the Grand Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (S.P.M.S.), which carries the title ‘Datuk Seri’ for men and ‘Datin Paduka Seri’ for women.
He added that two individuals were conferred with the Grand Order of Datuk Setia – Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (S.S.I.S.), which carries the title ‘Datuk Setia’ for men and ‘Datin Paduka Setia’ for women.

Nine individuals received the Grand Order – Datuk Paduka Mahkota Selangor (D.P.M.S.), with the title ‘Datuk’ for male members and ‘Datin Paduka’ for female members.
“As many as 13 other individuals received the Grand Order of Datuk – Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (D.S.I.S.), which also carries the title ‘Datuk’ for men and ‘Datin Paduka’ for women,” he said.

Sultan Sharafuddin also consented to confer the Grand Order – Crown of Selangor (S.M.S) to 15 recipients, while 13 individuals were awarded the Grand Order of Setia – Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (S.I.S). In conjunction with his birthday, the Sultan of Selangor also graciously conferred the Grand Order of Member of the Crown of Selangor (A.M.S) to 15 recipients, the Grand Order of Member – Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (A.I.S) to 16 individuals, the Star of Sporting Excellence Selangor to two individuals, and the Star of Excellent Service (B.P.C) to seven individuals.

Haris mentioned that the state government received 2,762 nominations this year, of which 1,032 were for Orders and Decorations, while 1,730 were for Medals of the State of Selangor. He noted that all 97 individuals had undergone screenings by the Royal Malaysia Police (Security and Crime), the Malaysian Insolvency Department, and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
